RIM Devices are used on outswing single swing applications. The hardware is surface mounted to the door and the panic hardware will engage with the frame components. For a Heavy Duty application Hager has the 4500 Series RIM Exit Devices. Made with superior materials and with dead locking stainless steel Pullman type latchbolts, the 4500 Series Exit Devices provide necessary security and performance. Hager 4500 Series Exit Devices meet Life Safety codes and Fire Safety requirements and hold a limited lifetime warranty.
The 4501 model is available as a UL Listed version with a fire-rated up to 3 hours, and a standard version. Both are available 36″ wide in either US10B or US26D and is also available 48″ wide as a fire-rated version in US26D. It is capable of being cut down to accommodate a 2/6 door. The 4501 model pairs with the 45 series trim handlesets.

In addition, a Shim Kit can be used with 4500 Series RIM exit devices where a glass bead kit would interfere with exit device. They are two 1/8″ shims and appropriate fasteners available in either US10B or US26D.
