Primed Jambs

Primed jambs, or frames, are the typical standard exterior jamb. They are made up of a finger-jointed pine material with a primed coating on top making it paint ready.

Reeb Finish

This jamb species cannot be finished by Reeb Finish.

Layouts

Primed jambs can be used with single doors, double doors, doors with one sidelite and doors with two sidelites. Standard size 4-9/16” and 6-9/16” jambs can also be used for a 2 door or 3 door patio unit. Primed jambs are also available for an arch or radius door top in 6-9/16”.

Depths

This jamb has the most sizes available and can be built up to accommodate a 13-3/8” jamb depth. It is stocked in up to 8-1/8” as one piece of frame material. Anything larger than 8-1/8” will use extension jambs (another jamb piece that’s ripped back and glued back onto the original jamb set). Transom sills are available in standard 4-9/16” and 6-9/16” sizes.

Lengths

All standard heights are available for this type of frame, along with some material available in 10’ pieces to accommodate larger width or taller units.

Machining

These frames are available machined for hinge or strike prep and also unmachined. Both machined and unmachined frame legs have a 6 degree slope at the bottom of the jamb leg to accommodate the sill slope, and a straight dado at the top to accommodate the headpiece to be installed with little labor. This frame comes kerfed to accept weatherstrip, and some of the jamb legs already have weatherstrip applied.

Exterior Casing

Brickmould and flat casing are available as an exterior trim in a matching primed material. The Brickmould will be 2” in width. The flat casing is 1×4 (actual measurement of 3/4” x 3-1/2”) and 1×6 (actual measurement of 3/4” x 5-1/2”).
