HB&G Split Kits

Split columns may be necessary for certain applications and HB&G has two kits that can reattach split columns. Regardless of using a split kit, please note that split columns are NOT load bearing. A split kit must be ordered separately as it does not automatically come with a split column.

Split Kit without Flange

A split kit without flange includes everything needed to install a round or square column: 43″ straps, 4-aluminum plates with screws, MMA adhesive and installation instructions. MMA adhesive is a Methyl Methacrylate Adhesive (MMA) which is a slow curing (20-25 minutes) two (2) component adhesive. It is a medium viscosity, solvent-free, structural adhesive that has excellent adhesion and bond strength performance. MMA adhesive must be stored in a climate-controlled environment.

The part numbers for the split kit without flange are:

  • 17111 for round 6″, 8″, and 10″ PermaCast columns from 4′ to 10′ and square 6″, and 8″, PermaCast columns from 6′ to 10′
  • 17112 for round 12″ 14″ or 16″ PermaCast columns from 6′ to 20′ and square 10″, 12″, 14″, and 16″, PermaCast columns from 6′ to 20′
  • 17113 for round 18″, 20″, 22″, 24″ 28″ and 10″ PermaCast columns from 8′ to 30′
