Therma-Tru provides a tutorial on touching up a wood grained door using a same day stain kit from Therma-Tru. This process should not be attempted for scratches longer than 3/4 inch long and 1/32 inch wide, or cross grain scratches. The staining process entails of cleaning the door, prepping the stain, staining the affected area, and blending the stain. The topcoat process includes preparing the topcoat and applying the topcoat to the newly stained area. Allow the area time to dry before adding additional coats.
